The Japanese video market has always been pretty isolationist. The wild proliferation of anime is even a reasonably recent innovation. I found out about this one a million years ago in this crazy ass book about Japanese Pink Film called Eros In Hell (highly recommended. It’s fucked up) and I searched high and low for a bunch of seriously weird Japanese art films be abuse of it. Most of the titles featured in that book never even released a DVD so they’re basically lost to time. Until I got an Arrow Video account I had to rely on an old VHS bootleg without subtitles and even with subs, it’s hard to keep track of what’s happening.
Somehow never heard of this and now I don't know what I've been doing with my life.
